How to use the Saeco Intenza Water Filter Cartridge

The water filter cartridge Intenza fits SAECO Odea, Talea and Primea coffee and espresso machines manufactured after May 2008. All older models use the Saeco Aqua Prima water filter cartridges. The only way to tell which cartridge to use is to refer to the original user manual that came with the machine.

Please refer to the following 5 steps for complete enjoyment of filtered water.

1. Adjust the Intenza aroma setting

Please adjust the Intenza aroma setting on the bottom side of the water filter cartridge to its respective position by turning the ring on its grip neps until the arrow shows on the right level.
2. Preparing the water filter cartridge Intenza

Immerse the water filter cartridge Intenza in cold water and shake it gently to remove any air bubbles.
3. Insert in the funnel

Insert the water filter cartridge Intenza firmly in the cartridge housing of the water tank. Please note, that the water filter cartridge should click into place. A tight fit guarantees full filtration performance of the cartridge.
4. Fill the water tank

Remove the water tank, fill it with cold tap water and reinsert it in the coffee machine.
5. Rinse cartridge

The water filter cartridge Intenza has to be flushed with tap water before brewing the first coffee or espresso. If your coffee machine does not automatically display or accomplish this, manually rinse your water filter cartridge with one filling with tap water of the water tank.
Replace the Intenza after 250 cups or after two months at the latest.
